Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC), now often called Life Plan Communities, are a great option for people as they age. They offer maintenance free living on a large campus that also offers on-site healthcare facilities, promising you care for life. Providence Point is a beautiful example of a well-loved Life Plan Community.
But what if you don’t want to move? What if you want to stay in your home, in your neighborhood, and have the freedom to do whatever you want? You may someday want to move to a Life Plan Community, but not yet. Still, you want the security of guaranteed care when you need it offered by a Life Plan Community, but in your own home – a CCRC without walls that still embraces your wellness and care. That is Continuing Care At Home. That is Providence At Home.
Merging the comfort and security of being part of a CCRC with the independence of staying in your own home, the Continuing Care at Home program may be the best of both worlds. Organizations like Baptist Senior Family choose to offer the Continuing Care at Home program to support people who are in our community at large, but don’t want to move to our two specific community sites.
Like a CCRC, a Continuing Care At Home program focuses on keeping you well. They look at your health conditions and make recommendations for management of them, and help you build your own plan to stay healthy. They even offer you the ability to use some of the amenities of the CCRC campus, like the fitness center and pool. They offer home safety inspections to make recommendations on how to make your home as accessible as possible. Staff get to know you and discuss with you your wishes for care when it is needed.
Based on the plan you choose with our Continuing Care At Home program, you receive a daily benefit when you need care. So if you have an accident and need some assistance with bathing, dressing, housekeeping and meal prep for a short term, it is covered, and the Continuing Care At Home program coordinates all of it for you. If you develop a long-term need for services, the plan covers you for life. If you ever need to move to a Personal Care or a Skilled Nursing facility, the monetary benefit continues, and you retain a personal advocate to help you get what you need.
The Continuing Care at Home program is a lovely hybrid of a Life Plan Community and Long Term Care Insurance. The program allows you to plan for your future, protect your assets, and keep you in control. It minimizes the stress on your loved ones when you need care. It is a lifetime of the support you need, when and where you need it.
